The American Humanities Index™, produced by Whitston Publishing (an imprint of EBSCO Publishing), has recently included indexing from more than 200 additional humanities titles, bringing its coverage of the humanities to more than 1,000 journals. Newly added content provides a focus on American literature, fine and popular arts, music, history and culture. Among the publications now included in the database are American Journal of Archaeology, College English, Philosophical Forum, Modern Language Quarterly, American Indian Quarterly, Canadian Historical Review, Journal of Southern History, Language in Society, New England Quarterly, Philosophy East and West, Poets and Writers, Texas Studies in Literature and Language, and many more.

"American Humanities Index continues to expand its offering of scholarly and creative content for academic libraries," according to Michael O. Laddin, publisher. "The addition of these journals is part of our ongoing commitment to the growth and development of the American Humanities Index."

In September 2003, EBSCO Publishing acquired Whitston Publishing Company, Inc., a well-respected publisher of reference works for academic and public libraries since 1969. Whitston's flagship database, the American Humanities Index has been available through the popular EBSCOhost® online research service since January 2003.
