Alternate Subject Schemes Offer Choice to EBSCO A-to-Z® Customers
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A., May 12, 2006 - EBSCO A-to-Z® (A-to-Z) customers may now choose the subject classification scheme that best meets the needs of their patrons. In addition to the Library of Congress classifications that have been available on A-to-Z since its inception, EBSCO is now offering a general headings option, based on a set of headings created by the librarians at EBSCO to help patrons find what they are looking for quickly and easily. EBSCO will soon offer a third subject scheme based on the Index Medicus® journal classifications, which are highly focused on medical and health materials. "This latest innovation is just another way we are looking to empower the library to create an access site that is tailored specifically for their patron's needs," said EBSCO's Chief Strategist of E-Resources Oliver Pesch. "Within three clicks of the mouse, the library is able to organize its A-to-Z titles into the subject scheme they think is best."
