BioMed Central research articles are “open access” and are immediately and permanently available online without charge. Some journals require an institutional or personal subscription to view content such as reviews. Research articles published by BioMed Central are archived in PubMed Central and are permanently accessible and searchable. For more information on BioMed Central journals, visit www.biomedcentral.com.

BioMed Central open access journals are also part of the extensive EBSCO A-to-Z SM (A-to-Z) master title database. A-to-Z offers access to hundreds of free online journals, such as those found in PubMed Central (www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov), the Directory of Open Access Journals (www.doaj.org) and the Free Medical Journals package.

EJS handles electronic journal access and management needs. EJS Enhanced offers extensive features that help with e-journal management tasks such as tracking the registration status of e-journals, authentication assistance to facilitate both on-campus and remote access to e-journal content, automatic management of e-journal URLs and much more. EBSCO provides durable URLs for every journal, table of contents and article in EJS Enhanced. No URL maintenance by the library is required. To view a complete list of the 11,900 journals presently available via EJS, visit http://ejournals.ebsco.com.

A-to-Z provides library staff and patrons with a single, comprehensive list of titles to which they have access, allowing them to easily locate and link to all your e-resources. For more information on A-to-Z or to sign up for a free trial, visit www.ebsco.com/atoz.
