EBSCO Publishing announced today that it has completed the acquisition of CINAHL Information Systems from Glendale Adventist Medical Center, in Glendale, California. This acquisition marks EBSCO Publishing's commitment to the field of nursing and allied health. "CINAHL® is the premier nursing and allied health database available today," said Tim Collins, General Manager of EBSCO Publishing. "We are pleased to have this outstanding database in the EBSCO family of products and services." While the organization is now a part of EBSCO, Cinahl Information Systems and its staff will remain in Glendale. "We are pleased to be able to transfer the stewardship of Cinahl to a company with such a strong tradition in the market place," said Scott Reiner, President and CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center. "We are also happy that Cinahl will continue to be housed here at the medical center, and remain a vital part of our community." EBSCO Publishing and Cinahl will continue to provide the CINAHL database in its current form, and work together to enhance both the CINAHL database and existing health-related EBSCO Publishing databases. CINAHL is recognized as the premier reference index in the nursing and allied health field.
