EBSCO to Offer Scientific American Archive Online via EBSCOhost®IPSWICH, Mass. — EBSCOhost® is now the only service through which researchers can gain access to the Scientific American Archive Online. The Scientific American Archive Online includes ongoing coverage for the publication in addition to backfile content beginning with the January 1993 issue. The Archive also contains the newly launched publication Scientific American Mind (starting with the premier issue from late 2004), as well as all Scientific American special issues dating back to 1997. In keeping with the archival nature of the database, all articles are made available as full color PDFs, which maintains the integrity of the original printed page – including all of the graphics. Scientific American Archive Online, a stand-alone database, is a comprehensive, searchable science and technology resource containing the full text and graphics of every Scientific American issue from 1993 to the present. The archive features the writings and colorful graphics that readers of Scientific American have come to depend upon and enjoy. Each of the more than 5,300 articles in the archive is available to view online or to download as a color PDF, and is presented exactly as originally printed in the magazine. In addition to the regular monthly issues of the magazine, users will find all of the Scientific American special issues. Among the topics covered in the archive are: Technology & Business, Public Policy, Innovation, Health & Medicine, Cosmology & Astronomy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Physics, Oceanography, Mathematics, Archaeology, and much more.
