Eight Publishers Add Diverse Collection of Journal Content to MetaPress®

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A., Aug. 15, 2006 - Eight publishers have recently selected MetaPress® as their strategic partner for electronic content distribution. Publishers who have added their journal content to MetaPress, continuing the dramatic growth of the industry's largest primary host of scholarly content, include:

The University of Toronto Press, founded in 1901, is Canada's oldest and largest scholarly press and one of the largest university presses in North America. Annually, the University of Toronto Press publishes 35 journals, releases approximately 140 new books and maintains a backlist of more than 1,000 titles in print.

"After a fairly lengthy search, we decided that MetaPress was the best content hosting option," said Anne Marie Corrigan, vice president of journals, the University of Toronto Press. "We evaluated a number of hosting platforms along a number of criteria. We looked at price, but we also looked at fit with our journals, the features of the MetaPress site, the ease of report generation, the robustness of the MetaPress system, the stability of the company and the MetaPress reputation in the publishing community. Most importantly, we spoke to existing clients about their experience hosting their journals with MetaPress. MetaPress was the best all-around platform for us."
