EBSCO Information Services Named Preferred Supplier by the London University Purchasing Consortium (LUPC)

LONDON, England - Oct. 6, 2006 - EBSCO Information Services is pleased to announce it has again been named a preferred supplier of periodicals and subscription services for libraries by the London University Purchasing Consortium (LUPC).

Darran Whatley, LUPC commodity group manager, said, "I am pleased to welcome EBSCO as a preferred supplier, and I am confident that the members of LUPC will benefit from the high quality service they will provide through this agreement."

Prior to its selection, EBSCO Information Services participated in a rigorous evaluation process conducted by five purchasing/technical and representatives from London-area universities. The evaluation confirmed EBSCO's capability to serve all institutions, in accordance with steady and controlled growth from EBSCO's current position and representing more than fifty eight institutions, in the LUPC region.

The selection also measured and recognized EBSCO's advanced electronic journal and package expertise, its exemplary management services and the experience of its staff.

Ian Middleton, General Manager, EBSCO Information Services, United Kingdom, said, "We are very proud to receive this recognition from LUPC and look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with them. All of the EBSCO teams are fully committed to offering the highest level of information products and services to London-area universities."
