BIOSIS and EBSCO Publishing today announced a formal agreement to make BIOSIS Previewsâ available on the EBSCOhost® system. This agreement further enhances what has been a successful partnership between the two companies for several years. Through this arrangement, EBSCO expands its subject- specific reference collection, and BIOSIS provides increased access and full-text linking to its varied and growing customer base.

The choice of EBSCO as a vendor-partner helps BIOSIS target multiple sectors in its customer base. "The combination of BIOSIS' reference searching and EBSCO's electronic full-text libraries appeals to both academic and corporate organizations," said Linda Sacks, Senior Vice President Product Development and Marketing. "The ability to search and access content in an integrated environment is a growing expectation of our customers, both corporate and academic, and having BIOSIS Previews available through EBSCOhost helps to meet this demand."

EBSCO Publishing has tremendously expanded its international customer base over the past few years. Not only does the company's databases offer full text for journals published all over the world, but EBSCO currently provides nation-wide access to its databases in over 50 countries.

"We have received many requests from customers suggesting that we make BIOSIS Previews available via EBSCOhost," said Tim Collins, EBSCO's Vice President and Division General Manager. "The linking capabilities of EBSCOhost will add a great deal of value to the database, allowing researchers to quickly link from citations in BIOSIS Previews to the corresponding full text found in another EBSCOhost database, or elsewhere in a library's collection. We are excited to make this database available to our customers, and look forward to continuing what has been a great working relationship with BIOSIS."

EBSCO will offer the entire BIOSIS Previews file, from 1969 to the present, and plans to have the database available for Summer 2003.
