Ann Lawson Named EBSCO's Publisher Relations Executive, Europe and UK

Palaiseau, France, Sept. 26, 2006 - EBSCO is pleased to announce the appointment of Ann Lawson to the newly created position of publisher relations executive, Europe and U.K., effective September 5. In her new role, Ann will provide local liaison support to the more than 42,000 European publishers with whom EBSCO works.

As a natural extension of its middleman role, EBSCO has introduced a series of services and tools to assist its publisher partners in streamlining the administrative work associated with the provision of electronic content. Leveraging EBSCO's position as the world's largest subscription agent, Ann will be responsible for coordinating these publisher relations and marketing programs in Europe. As the primary contact with the European publishing community, she will work to create and deliver custom solutions for publishers working to simplify e-resource workflow.

Prior to joining EBSCO, Ann held various senior management positions at Oxford University Press from 2001 to 2006. Previously, she also served as the data licensing manager in HarperCollins' dictionaries division.

Ann will report to Mark A. Williams, EBSCO's director of publisher services/publisher relations, and will be responsible for the eight countries that encompass EBSCO's European region.

Fluent in English and German, Ann earned a doctorate in German Studies from The University of Birmingham (UK) and an Advanced Certificate in marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
