The Nation Digital Archive™ Now Available Only via EBSCOhost®

IPSWICH, Mass.March 30, 2006 EBSCO Publishing is now the only service through which libraries can gain access to The Nation Digital Archive™. This resource includes ongoing coverage for The Nation in addition to backfile content beginning with volume 1, issue 1 (July 1865). In keeping with the archival nature of the database, all articles are made available as full color PDFs, which maintains the integrity of the original printed page – including all of the graphics.

The Nation is America’s oldest weekly magazine and one of the premier journals of opinion since its inception in 1865. The magazine has long been regarded as one of the country’s definitive journalistic voices of writing on politics, culture, books as well as the arts and continues to stand as the independent voice in American journalism. The database features the first published pieces from James Baldwin, Ralph Nader and Hunter Thompson. Likewise, The Nation has a proud literary history as well, having published the work of W.H. Auden, Langston Hughes, Sylvia Plath, Henry James, Willa Cather, Thomas Mann and many other major writers. Each of the more than 7,100 articles in the archive is available to view online or to download as a color PDF, and is presented exactly as originally printed in the magazine.
