EBSCO Publishing and NewspaperARCHIVE.com have announced a partnership that will enable EBSCO to offer its customers a tremendous backfile of newspaper content.

As the result of the recent arrangement between the two companies, NewspaperARCHIVE.com can now be purchased through EBSCO. This service grants unlimited access to online newspaper archives for libraries - at affordable prices. The NewspaperARCHIVE product offers coverage for hundreds of newspapers containing more than 5.5 million pages of articles dating back as far as the 1700's. The collection provides a searchable archival file of important newspapers from the U.S., Canada and the UK. Specific newspapers covered in the vast collection include: the Washington Post, the Atlanta Constitution, Indianapolis Star, the New York Times, Newport Daily News, the Bridgeport Post, the London Times, and hundreds more.

According to Chris Gill, NewspaperARCHIVE's President, "The depth and breadth of the collection will expand dramatically this year. For example, additional information from The London Times, dating as far back as 1765, will be included in the near future. We anticipate that the collection will grow by approximately 2 million pages per month from this point forward."

In order to make this information conveniently accessible to end users, a link to NewspaperARCHIVE information will be made available on the EBSCOhost® Select Services page for subscribing libraries.

"We are excited to enhance our offering of newspaper data through this arrangement," said Tim Collins, EBSCO's Vice President and Division General Manager. "Our concentration has been more focused on providing current and archival coverage of a great number of magazines and journals. NewspaperARCHIVE represents a valuable resource for customers looking to supplement their current EBSCOhost databases with additional newspaper information."
